Important: By using viewLox you agree to these terms and conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

  • viewLox/Service: The platform and mobile application for content unlock management.
  • Publisher: Content owner who uses the Service to manage content access.
  • Viewer/End User: Person who wants to access content protected by a Publisher.
  • Smartlink: Centrally managed advertisement URLs displayed within the mobile application by viewLox.
  • Credits: Virtual currency purchased by Viewers for premium (ad-free) content unlocks.
  • Rewarded Ad: A video advertisement served via Google AdMob (potentially mediated through Unity Ads, AppLovin or other networks) that the End User watches to unlock content.
  • Interstitial Ad: A full-screen advertisement that may be displayed after a Rewarded Ad as a supplement.
  • Banner Ad: An advertisement banner displayed at the bottom of certain screens within the mobile application.

2. Acceptance and Changes

By using viewLox you declare that:

  • You have read and understood these terms;
  • You are legally authorised to enter into a binding agreement;
  • You agree to all terms without reservation.

We reserve the right to modify these terms. Material changes will be announced via email or on the website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

3. Service Description

viewLox offers:

  • A platform for content unlock management via mobile application;
  • Session and access management for protected content;
  • Rewarded, interstitial and banner advertisements via Google AdMob Mediation;
  • Centrally managed smartlink advertisements within the app;
  • A premium credit system for ad-free content unlocks;
  • Reporting and analytics tools for Publishers.

viewLox does NOT provide:

  • Advertisement content (provided by ad networks via Google AdMob Mediation);
  • Guarantees about advertising revenue;
  • Hosting or storage of Publisher content;
  • Technical support for third-party services.

4. Credit System

viewLox operates a credit system with the following terms:

  • Credit Value: Each credit has a value set by viewLox (currently $0.10 per credit). This value may change at viewLox's discretion.
  • Purchasing: Viewers can purchase credits via Stripe (web/app) or in-app purchases (Android/iOS). All purchases are final and non-refundable unless required by law.
  • Premium Unlocks: Viewers can spend credits to unlock content instantly without watching ads.
  • Publisher Earnings: When a Viewer spends credits on a Publisher's content, the Publisher earns a share of those credits. The current publisher share is 65% (viewLox retains a 35% platform commission).
  • Commission: viewLox charges a platform commission on all credit-based unlocks. The commission percentage is set by viewLox and may change. The applicable rate at the time of a transaction is locked in for that transaction.
  • Payouts: Publishers can request payouts of earned credits. Payouts are processed in USD and subject to a minimum withdrawal amount. Processing time may vary.
  • No Guarantees: viewLox does not guarantee a minimum level of credit earnings for Publishers.

5. Publisher Obligations

As a Publisher you are required to:

  • Compliance: Comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including GDPR, privacy and advertising legislation;
  • Content: Only protect legal content without infringing on third-party rights;
  • Smartlinks: Not use own advertisement URLs or affiliate links outside the viewLox system on locked pages;
  • Transparency: Not provide misleading information to End Users;
  • Security: Keep account credentials confidential and report unauthorised use.

6. End User Obligations

As an End User you are required to:

  • Download and install the viewLox app legally;
  • Watch advertisements completely as required for access;
  • Not take technical measures to block or bypass advertisements;
  • Not reverse-engineer, decompile or otherwise modify the app;
  • Not use automated systems to access content.

7. Prohibition of Third-Party Advertisements on Locked Pages

Publishers are expressly prohibited from:

  • Placing advertisements, banners, pop-ups, or other commercial content from third parties on pages that are protected or locked via viewLox;
  • Adding own advertisements or affiliate links to the unlock process or locked content;
  • Using ad injection scripts, adware or similar technologies in combination with viewLox-locked pages;
  • Adding redirects to external advertisements before, during, or immediately after the unlock process;
  • Modifying, manipulating or altering the advertisement experience provided by viewLox.

Sanctions: Violation of this prohibition will result in immediate suspension of the Publisher account, possible permanent exclusion, and forfeiture of outstanding credit balances. viewLox reserves the right to claim damages.

8. Age Restriction

viewLox is not intended for persons under 16 years of age (within the European Union) or under 13 years of age (outside the EU).

  • By creating an account you declare that you have reached the minimum age;
  • Publishers are responsible for ensuring their content is appropriate for the target audience;
  • viewLox reserves the right to remove accounts if use by minors is suspected;
  • Parents or guardians are responsible for any use by minors under their supervision.

9. Anti-Fraud and Manipulation

The following activities are strictly prohibited and actively monitored:

  • Click fraud: Artificially generating views, clicks, or unlocks via bots, scripts, or automated means;
  • Credit manipulation: Attempts to abuse the credit system, including creating multiple accounts for bonuses;
  • Session manipulation: Manipulating session data to gain free access;
  • Chargeback fraud: Intentionally initiating chargebacks after receiving credits;
  • Traffic manipulation: Generating fake traffic to Publisher content for illegitimate earnings.

Consequences: Upon detection of fraud, viewLox will immediately block the account, freeze all outstanding balances, and report to the relevant authorities. viewLox reserves the right to recover damages.

10. Refund and Restitution Policy

The following policy applies to purchases made through viewLox:

  • Credits: Purchased credits are final and non-refundable. Credits constitute a virtual currency with no monetary value outside the viewLox platform;
  • Technical Issues: If credits were not correctly credited due to a technical issue on viewLox's side, we will add the credits after verification;
  • Unauthorised Purchases: In case of demonstrably unauthorised purchases, a refund may be considered. Please contact support within 14 days;
  • Chargebacks: Initiating a chargeback without first contacting viewLox may result in immediate account suspension;
  • EU Right of Withdrawal: In accordance with the European Consumer Rights Directive, by purchasing digital content (credits) you waive your right of withdrawal once delivery has commenced (credits added to your account).

11. Prohibited Use

It is prohibited to use the Service for:

  • Illegal content or activities;
  • Infringement of third-party intellectual property;
  • Distribution of malware, viruses or harmful code;
  • Spam, phishing or fraudulent practices;
  • Abuse that disrupts the operation of the Service;
  • Discriminatory, hateful or offensive content;
  • Violation of third-party privacy.

12. Liability and Indemnification

Limitation of Liability:

viewLox is NOT liable for:

  • Content of advertisements provided by Smartlink providers;
  • Content protected by Publishers;
  • Indirect, incidental or consequential damages;
  • Loss of revenue, data or goodwill;
  • Actions of End Users;
  • Outages or technical issues beyond our control;
  • Changes by third parties (app stores, ad providers).

Maximum liability: If liability is established, it is limited to the amount paid by Publisher in the last 3 months, with a maximum of $100.

13. Intellectual Property

All rights to viewLox software, logos, trademarks, documentation and other materials remain the property of viewLox. It is prohibited to:

  • Use viewLox trademarks without written permission;
  • Copy, modify or distribute the software;
  • Create derivative works;
  • Circumvent security measures.

14a. Advertising SDKs and Data Collection

The viewLox mobile application uses the following advertising technologies:

  • Google AdMob: For displaying rewarded, interstitial and banner advertisements. AdMob may collect device data, advertising identifiers and usage data for personalising advertisements and measuring performance.
  • Google AdMob Mediation: Connects to multiple ad networks (including Unity Ads and AppLovin) via real-time bidding to select the highest-paying advertisement.
  • Unity Ads: May be used as a mediation partner via AdMob. Unity Ads may collect device data and advertisement interactions.
  • AppLovin: May be used as a mediation partner via AdMob. AppLovin may collect device data and advertisement interactions.

By using the viewLox app:

  • You consent to data collection by the above advertising networks in accordance with their respective privacy policies;
  • You acknowledge that advertisements may be personalised based on your interests and device data;
  • You can limit personalised advertisements via your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads);
  • You acknowledge that watching advertisements (rewarded, interstitial) may be required to unlock content.

15. Data Retention and Deletion

viewLox processes personal data in accordance with GDPR. You have the right to:

  • Access: Request which data we hold about you;
  • Rectification: Have incorrect data corrected;
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data (right to be forgotten);
  • Portability: Receive your data in a standard format;
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

Upon account deletion, personal data will be removed within 30 days, except for data we are legally required to retain (such as transaction data for tax purposes, up to 7 years). Anonymised and aggregated data may be retained for statistical purposes.

16. Suspension and Termination

viewLox may suspend or terminate accounts without prior notice in case of:

  • Violation of these terms;
  • Illegal or fraudulent use;
  • Abuse causing damage to viewLox or third parties;
  • Inactivity longer than 12 months;
  • Legal obligation.

Upon termination, all access is revoked immediately. viewLox is not obligated to provide refunds. Pending credit balances may be forfeited at viewLox's discretion if termination is due to terms violation.

17. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, including:

  • Uninterrupted or error-free operation;
  • Fitness for a particular purpose;
  • Security against malware or breaches;
  • Compliance with expectations.

18. Force Majeure

viewLox shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • Natural disasters, war, terrorism or pandemics;
  • Failures in telecommunications or internet infrastructure;
  • Government measures, changes in legislation or regulations;
  • Failures of third-party service providers (hosting providers, payment providers, app stores);
  • DDoS attacks, cyber attacks or other security incidents;
  • Power outages or hardware failures.

In case of force majeure, our obligations are suspended for the duration of the impediment. We will make reasonable efforts to mitigate the consequences.

19. API and Integration

For Publishers using the viewLox API or integration features:

  • API access is granted under a non-exclusive, revocable licence;
  • Using the API for purposes outside normal viewLox usage is prohibited;
  • viewLox may set and change API limits without prior notice;
  • Abuse of the API may result in immediate access revocation;
  • viewLox does not guarantee uninterrupted API availability;
  • Publisher is responsible for the security of API keys and access credentials.

20. User Data and Backup

Publisher is solely responsible for:

  • Backup of own data;
  • Storing configurations and settings;
  • Recovery of own content in case of loss.

viewLox does not guarantee data retention and is not liable for data loss.

21. Applicable Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. Parties will first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith before taking legal action.

22. Miscellaneous

  • Transferability: You may not transfer your rights under these terms without consent.
  • Severability: Invalidity of any provision does not affect remaining provisions.
  • Entire Agreement: These terms constitute the entire agreement between parties.
  • No Waiver: Failure to enforce rights does not constitute a waiver.
